Northern Fairfield County is nestled at the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, offering both the beauty of nature and a quality of life not often found in the same place. Our proximity to major cities such as New York, New Haven, Stamford, and Hartford gives our residents access to numerous employment opportunities. Locally many corporations call Northern Fairfield County home or have divisions located here, including GE Capital, Cartus, Boehringer Ingelheim, Duracell, Praxair, IBM, Photronics, and Raytheon. Our major roadways, airport, and public transportation make travel easy.

There is a sense of caring about community throughout the area and people are friendly and inviting. We have outstanding schools, both public and private, including Western Connecticut State University with its impressive graduate and undergraduate programs. Excellent healthcare facilities including Danbury Hospital, a teaching hospital affiliated with Yale, keeps us on par with any major city hospital. There are many local community theaters, symphonies and vocal groups for entertainment and many community service organizations for volunteer opportunities as well.

We enjoy numerous parks in all of the area towns. The areas crown jewel is Candlewood Lake – Connecticut’s largest man made lakes which borders 5 towns and stretches 27 miles providing boating, fishing and swimming opportunities. Richter Park one of this country’s top-rated public golf courses is located in Danbury. Northern Fairfield County has the largest mall in New England, Danbury Fair Mall. There are cultural exhibitions and concerts at the Charles Ives Center. Historic homes dating back to the birth of our country can be found everywhere. You can also visit wineries along The Connecticut Wine Trail. All this and so much more, we are sure you will agree Northern Fairfield County is a “Great Place To Be”.
