BRIDGEWATER: A Quiet Hide-A-Way
Located between the towns of New Milford and Brookfield is the peaceful farming community of Bridgewater.  Known largely for its annual Bridgewater Country Fair held in late August and sponsored by the Bridgewater Fire Department, this quiet little town exudes charm.  From the Village Store on Main Street South, with its ice cream parlor and handmade chocolates, to the Town Park on the shores of Lake Lillinonah, this cozy little town invites any visitor to stop for a visit.

The Bridgewater Historical Society operates the Peck House Museum on Main Street during the summer, while year-round clubs and organizations such as the Bridgewater Land Trust, Women's Fellowship, and Roxbury/Bridgewater Garden Club promote community pride.

The educational needs of the community are met through attendance at the Burnham School (grades K-6), and Shepaug Valley Middle/High School (grades 7-12) in Washington.

Primarily a residential town, Bridgewater's homes are located among its rolling hills, and enjoy the quiet splendor that makes up this intimate little town.
