Danbury Hospital is a 371-bed not-for-profit community teaching hospital serving approximately 360,000 residents of western Connecticut and southeastern New York. Its specialized facilities include a Level II Trauma Center and the J. Benton Egee, MD, Emergency Department, The Praxair Cancer Center, a Family Birth Center and Level II neonatal intensive care unit, the Western Connecticut Cardiac Center, Jack and Richard Lawrence Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and the Marcus Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, the Nelson Gelfman, M.D., Dialysis Unit, the Duracell Center for Ambulatory Surgery, an accredited sleep disorders center, advanced radiologic and oncology care via two linear accelerators, MRI, CAT, PET Scan and interventional radiology, Main Street Physical Rehabilitation Center, a pediatric pulmonary/asthma management program and the Seifert & Ford Family Community Health Center.

Danbury Hospital has 10 clinical departments and a medical and dental staff of more than 500 physicians. Danbury Hospital is the area's largest employer with close to 3,000 employees and 67 resident physicians.

The Hospital has a long history as a teaching institution and currently maintains 95 agreements with numerous colleges and universities to train medical, nursing and allied health students. The Hospital operates eight residencies -- seven for graduate physicians in Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pathology, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Nuclear Medicine, and Pediatrics - as well as one in General Practice Dentistry.

Danbury Hospital, the Danbury Visiting Nurse Association, Inc., and Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, Inc., have earned Accreditation With Commendation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The Hospital's other accreditations include, the American College of Surgeons (Cancer, Level II Trauma Center), American College of Radiology and the American College of Pathologists.

Since its founding in 1921, New Milford Hospital has delivered the finest in medical and surgical services. We provide quality health care for many area communities including New Milford, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Kent, New Fairfield, Roxbury, Sherman, Southbury, Warren, Washington, and Woodbury in Connecticut, as well as Dover Plains, Patterson, Pawling, and Wingdale in New York State. A general, acute-care hospital with 85 beds, providing a modern expanded Ambulatory Care Center which includes Radiology, Laboratory, Emergency Room, Physical Therapy, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and Respiratory Therapy. The Center also includes a new, up-to-date Surgical Suite, expanded and sophisticated ICU-CCU, Central Sterile Supply, and a Materials Management Center.

In 1995 New Milford Hospital developed a formal affiliation with Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Columbia-Presbyterian is universally considered one of the finest medical centers in the country and enjoys the same reputation as an academic and research center. As a result of this affiliation, New Milford Hospital and its patients are the beneficiaries of a comprehensive and enhanced health care delivery system for today and the future. We maintain our identity, autonomy, local perspective and tradition of responsiveness to area communities with this affiliation while further enhancing our clinical programs.

In 1997 we also affiliated with the New Milford Visiting Nurse Association, which became a subsidiary of the New Milford Hospital Holding Corporation. This relationship enables us to provide a continuity of patient care from before admission, through your hospital stay and home again.

Elements in Progressive Patient Care are: Intensive Coronary Care Unit, Special Care Unit, General Medical-Surgical, Maternity, Pediatric, and Isolation. Other facilities include equipment for electro-cardiograms, stress testing, electro-encephalographs, radiology and nuclear medicine, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy.

The hospital continues to promote its extensive community role by providing a number of health promotion programs conducted by its staff which include the use of hospital facilities.

The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (the “Hospital”) is a 109 bed, general acute care hospital located in Torrington, Connecticut, serving a 13-town primary service area comprised of approximately 95,000 persons. The Hospital also serves as a regional health care resource for the residents of Litchfield County, situated in Northwestern Connecticut.

The Hospital, located on 120 acres of land, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services including general medicine and surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychiatry. Complementing the major clinical divisions are three regional programs in psychiatry, radiation therapy and renal dialysis. The Hospital, a general acute care not-for-profit organization, is a member of the American Hospital Association and the Connecticut Hospital Association, and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the American College of Radiology (ACR), the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and by the American College of American Pathologists (laboratory). The Hospital is governed by an 18-member voluntary Board of Governors, and is licensed by the Connecticut Department of Health and Addiction Services.

Major diagnostic and therapeutic services include laboratory, radiology, including nuclear scanning, computed tomography (CT) scanning, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission testing (PET), and special radiology procedures. CHH also offers physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes education and treatment and a sleep lab.

Affiliate entities include The Center for Cancer Care, Advanced Medical Imaging, Eastern Rehabilitation Network, and The Urology Center of Northwest Connecticut.
