HOW TO BECOME A LICENSED REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON
To become a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of Connecticut, the are a number of steps to follow:

1. The first step is to take a pre-licensing course called "Principles and Practices of Real Estate" ("P&P"). This is a 60-hour course and must be successfully completed in order to apply for a real estate salesperson's license. In order to successfully complete this pre-licensing course is to attend all 60 hours of class and score a '70' or better on the class test. Once these requirements are met, the NFCAR Real Estate School will issue you a "Certificate of Successful Completion".

2. Next, the candidate applies to PSI Examination Services for permission to take the state licensing exam. This entails completing the the real estate licensing application (“State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, Real Estate Salesperson Application”) You will need to have this application notorized. With your completed application, you will also need to submit the original "Certificate of Successful Completion" from the "P&P" course, and a check or money order for $80.00 made payable to "PSI Examination Services" for the application fee.1

3. Once your application is reviewed and approved, you will receive an Examination Eligibility Postcard from SPI with instructions to register and schedule the examination. Please note that an examination fee of $52.00 will be due at the time you schedule the examincation with PSI.
